I am a third-year PhD student at Northern Illinois University specializing in Rhetoric and Composition Studies with a focus on digital rhetoric and identity. In early January of 2015, I will be taking my fields exams, so I am currently in the process of reading, remembering, and synthesizing over 100 texts. The exams will take place in a computer lab over the span of two days (with four hours allotted for each); I will have no texts or notes available to me.

This blog is an amalgamation of my study efforts; I hope it may prove useful to others as well. It includes notes for each text on my Rhetoric and Composition Studies reading lists, as well as answers to practice exam questions. I’ve even included a page that lists many of the dominant themes in each field. Blog posts will be attempts to synthesize various scholars according to one of the many themes in hopes that I will be able to confront any exam questions with maximum ease and intelligence.
